Of the preparatory meeting in Edessa with the visitors
from the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania)
After our proposal to some institutions in Baltic countries, we are glad to have in our country 4 people – representatives to discuss for common aims and to collaborate in European level.
At first each one of the representatives had the opportunity to introduce its institution and to propose ideas for collaboration. After it some Greek leaders from Cultural associations introduced its institution in Edessa. We had many conversations about what each one could do for this project. The proposals and ideas are:
Ø The orchestra of Vilnius University can play Greek music with traditional and folklore songs from the Greek Choir of Edessa. The same can be done by other cultural associations in Baltic countires and in Greece. We are thinking to share this work in smaller topics like: sea, air, fire, cultivation of land, professions, love, wedding etc. of course we can create a common work with known international songs in all the languages, like: Silent night, the song of peace, music always connect us etc
Ø Our workshops will follow some steps, like: traditional dances, traditional songs, traditional music, music instruments, the structure of the instruments, making every thing what has to do with traditional art, traditional costumes of the dance groups, traditional meals, drinks and sweets. All this steps can be a final product. At first we will be informed about all the above in our meetings and exchanges between us in first year of our project and then in second year we will work for common products in all the topics we have agreed. We can study and have considerations in traditional and cultural themes, we can compare and find the common sites of art, tradition, dances and music, we can learn dances and songs of each country and of course we can create a common music CD and film DVD together.
